Tracey Simon

Head Coach · BTF Level 3

Competing since 2004, I came to triathlon with no sporting background and went from the back of the field to Team GB age grouper in three years.

I've raced IM 70.3 events worldwide and represented Great Britain at the World Triathlon Grand Final in London 2013, where I achieved a world ranking of 8th in my age group.

In 2013 I was honoured to be named North East Coach of the Year.

My coaching philosophy centres on understanding that life happens. Shift patterns change. Injuries flare up. Motivation wanes. I specialise in working with athletes who don't fit the typical mould — people managing chronic conditions, navigating menopause, or juggling unpredictable schedules.

Coach · BTF Level 3

Racing since 2002 with no background in any of the three disciplines, I progressed to competitive international Age Grouper, racing for Great Britain at World Championships in Hamburg, Vancouver, Budapest and Las Vegas.

My long-distance debut came at the Outlaw, finishing in 9:55.

I focus on the technical and analytical side of coaching — helping athletes understand their data, optimise their training load, and make evidence-based decisions about their preparation.

Our philosophy

A front-of-pack age grouper trains swim, bike and run for 10–20 hours a week. We believe what you do in the remaining 148–158 hours will dictate how successful you are.

Nutrition, sleep, strength and conditioning — these are the marginal gains that are actually available to most amateur athletes. The training is important, but it's only part of the picture.

We don't believe in suffer culture. We believe in sustainable training that fits your life, honest feedback about what's working, and support that recognises you're a whole person — not just an athlete.
